GaiaLabz

The control plane for machine identity

Secure every identity.Protect every connection.

Enterprises run 140,000+ machine certificates with no central owner. GaiaLabz discovers the estate, brokers issuance, rotates on machine cadence, and swaps the underlying cryptography on command.

The problem

Every machine has an identity.Almost no one controls it.

A certificate is an ID card for a non-human entity

Every server, service, container, and workload proves who it is with a cryptographic certificate before another system will talk to it. It is the machine equivalent of a badge — issued by an authority, valid for a fixed window, and worthless the moment it expires. When one lapses unnoticed, the connection is refused and the service goes dark.

The estate grew without an owner

Certificates are issued by whoever needs one: a platform team, a cloud console, an appliance, a script from 2017. The average enterprise runs 10 to 11 unmanaged certificate authorities alongside the sanctioned one, plus self-signed sprawl no inventory records. Nobody holds the whole list, so nobody can answer what expires next week.

Three forces · One control plane

Three forces.One control plane.

Three unrelated deadlines land on the same pile of cryptographic material. All three are solved by the same operation.

Certificate lifetime compression

398 → 47 days by 2029

Public TLS validity is collapsing on a published schedule, and browsers enforce it — there is no vendor to negotiate with. Renewal work multiplies until it exceeds what any team can do by hand.

Federal post-quantum mandate

EO 14409 · 2030 and 2031

Key establishment must migrate to post-quantum algorithms by 2030, signatures by 2031. Migration is not a patch — it means reissuing every certificate in the estate with different math.

Agentic identity growth

One credential per agent

Every autonomous agent that calls a tool or an API needs its own verifiable identity, scoped and revocable. Identities are multiplying faster than any manual process can absorb them.

Three budgets. Three sponsors. One system.

The control plane

Know every certificate.Control every one.

Estate discovery

See the whole estate. Prove it to the auditor.

GaiaLabz scans network, cloud, and host surfaces to build a cryptographic bill of materials — every certificate, its issuer, its algorithm, its expiry, and the workload presenting it. Self-signed certificates and unmanaged authorities are flagged on sight.

You cannot rotate what you cannot enumerate.

A discovery view listing certificates found across the estate — host, issuing authority, algorithm, and time to expiry — with a running total climbing past 142,000 and badges flagging self-signed certificates and unmanaged authorities.

Unified issuance

One path in. Every authority behind it.

A single issuance interface brokers to the certificate authorities you already run — private CA, cloud CA, or HSM-backed root. GaiaLabz sits in front of that estate rather than replacing it, so adoption does not require a migration.

Additive by design. Nothing gets ripped out.

A routing diagram: certificate requests from Kubernetes, VM fleets, and agents converge on a single GaiaLabz issuance path, which brokers outward to the customer's existing private CA, cloud CA, and HSM-backed root.

Rotation at machine cadence

Issue in seconds. Rotate forever.

Certificates renew, install, and reload on a schedule the machines keep, not the calendar a person remembers. GaiaLabz verifies the new certificate is actually being served before it retires the old one, so rotation never becomes the outage it was meant to prevent.

The 47-day floor stops being an event.

A certificate for payments-api.prod.internal counts down from 47 days to zero, is automatically reissued with a new serial number, and returns to a full 47-day term with the status 'installed and serving — verified'.

Algorithm as policy

Swap the math on command.

Cryptographic algorithm becomes a policy attribute of a scope, not a property baked into thousands of individual certificates. Change the policy and GaiaLabz reissues progressively, with a rollback control held open the entire time.

Migration becomes a policy change, not a multi-year project.

A policy panel for the scope payments-*: the signature algorithm is switched from ECDSA P-384 to the post-quantum ML-DSA-65, and a progress readout shows certificates being reissued against the new policy with a rollback control held open throughout.

Attestation & evidence

Answer the questionnaire from the console.

Posture is continuously computed and exportable: algorithm distribution, coverage, rotation success rate, and remaining exposure. The report that satisfies a procurement gate is generated from live state rather than assembled by hand.

Evidence, not assertions.

An exportable cryptographic posture report showing 98 percent post-quantum readiness, the distribution of signature algorithms across the estate, full coverage, a 30-day rotation success rate of 99.98 percent, and zero unmanaged authorities.

One pane

One console.The whole estate.

Discovery, rotation, algorithm posture, and expiry risk in a single operational view.

The GaiaLabz console: 142,318 certificates under management across four authorities, a rotation queue processing four workloads, an algorithm posture chart showing estate coverage climbing to 98 percent over twelve weeks, and an expiring-soon list led by two certificates inside five days.

Unified estate

Every authority and workload in one inventory.

Machine-speed rotation

How it works

Land on the outage.Expand to the mandate.

  1. 01

    Now

    Wedge

Discover the estate and stop the outages

GaiaLabz enumerates every certificate you hold and surfaces what expires next. The pain is immediate, quantifiable, and already budgeted — no belief in quantum computing is required to justify it.

  2. 02

    2027

    Expand

Take over issuance and automate rotation

As validity crosses the 100-day threshold, manual renewal stops being survivable. GaiaLabz assumes the issuance path and runs rotation continuously against the authorities already in place.

  3. 03

    2030–2031

    Platform

    Algorithm policy, agent identity, attestation

From an installed position, the post-quantum mandate becomes a policy change rather than a program. Workload and agent identity join the same plane, and evidence exports satisfy the compliance gate.

The insight

The math is free. The change management is not.

Post-quantum cryptography is under one percent of security spend, and the algorithms themselves are given away — AWS, Google, and Cloudflare ship them at no cost. The bottleneck was never the mathematics. It is the operational problem of changing cryptographic material across a hundred thousand live systems without taking any of them down.

That is the control plane.

FAQ

The questions that decide it.

No. GaiaLabz is additive. It brokers to the private CAs, cloud CAs, and HSM-backed roots you already operate, and your trust anchors do not move. Most deployments begin in read-only discovery and take over issuance one scope at a time.
